The Frio House sits on a bluff overlooking the crystal clear Frio River.  It consists of the main house, the attached bunk room, & a guest apartment.  The house has steps & railing leading down to the river below. It accomodates up to 15 people; perfect for that family vacation you have been wanting to take.

 

The main house living area has vaulted ceilings and an open floorplan.  The spaciousness of the living area makes visiting with your family and friends easy.  Some people can hang out on the barstools with the cook in the kitchen, some can visit at the dining table with views to the mountain valley & river, and some can hang out on the couch in the living room to watch t.v....all while being able to visit with everyone.  Prior guests have found the house to be very cozy and a great place to reconnect with family and friends.  Be sure to check out all the guest reviews found on the various pages.

 

We are currently updating the house with fresh paint, new decor, & bedding.  Updated bedroom & guest apartment pictures will be shared soon!

 

Below you will find a breakdown of the property to show the sleeping arrangements & ammenities.  Just a reminder, all bed linens are provided but be sure to bring your own towels!  The Frio House does not allow pets or smoking to help keep the place clean & tidy for all guests and decrease the risk of fire hazard.

    • One bunk with full bed on the bottom and twin on top

  • Great spot for all the kids to bunk together or those looking for privacy away from the group

BUNK HOUSE

  • Sleeps 4

    • One king bed

    • Two twin beds

  • Attached to the main house via the covered breezeway

  • In the fall of 2016, this bunk room & breezeway will be rennovated to include a new large master bedroom, extra bathroom, & a 4th  bedroom.

  • Fully stocked kitchen includes plates, cups, silverware, coffee pot, keurig, coffee mugs, wine glasses, pots/pans, large stock pots, cookie sheets, cutting boards, baking dishes, crock pot, large skillet, pitchers, & a blender.

  • Equipped with all purpose cleaner, hand soap, paper towels, & toiletries (be prepared to bring extra if you have a large group)

THE LOCATION

  • About 2 minutes from the town of Leakey (which includes a grocery store, gas stations, subway, restaurants, antique shops & more!)

  • 2 minutes from Josh's Frio River Outfitter to rent tubes & purchase swimming gear

  •  10 minutes from the tubing put-in spot at the 1120 crossing (float to Happy Hollow)

  • 12-13 minutes to the put-in spot at the 1050 bridge (float to Garner State Park)

  • Concan is about 16 miles south

  • 20 miles to Lost Maples State Park
